We created this PS to take full advantage of Canon DSLRs dynamic range, without incurring in the harsh highlights roll-off and the flat skin tones that often come with other "flat" picture styles. To do that, we had to give up a little "reach" in the shadows (about 1/3 of a stop, compared to Technicolor's Cinestyle) but this PS usually delivers more natural skin tones and smoother highlights transitions, while preserving more midtone detail. Since this PS was designed to produce footage meant to be color graded, we prefer to use it with the in-camera saturation level all the way down, therefore that's how it comes by default.
